While doing the interior work of your log home, give special attention to shape of the logs and their color. The diameter of the logs to be used play a vital role in giving the log home a royal look. The use of logs with small diameter will possibly not help you achieve your objective. This means that larger the diameter of the logs, better will be the results. However, if you use logs with large diameter, the carpet area of your log homes should also be large. The individual rooms also need to be large enough to suit the logs. The appropriate positioning of the windows in the log house is of prime importance, as your house will get adequate sunlight from the windows. The windows should be big enough and well decorated. With large windows, you can have a good view of the beautiful natural environment around your home. You can consider having windows of different shapes like triangular, square, rectangular or circular. You can also try giving different orientations to the windows. If you want morning sunlight, then you should have the windows facing east. Try to have a uniform pattern of windows throughout your log homes for a visual delight.
While decorating your log home, ensure that the positioning of the lights is proper to avoid darkness in any room. Like decorative windows, you can also have attractive lamps to make the rooms look nice. Now, let us discuss about the flooring of your log home. Avoid using any carpet or mat for your kitchen flooring. Instead, you can use good quality wood flooring for a better appearance. In the kitchen you can consider the idea of fitting colored tiles on the walls. It is not mandatory to use the same kind of flooring in all the rooms. You can design the kids room in a different way than the rest of the home.Wall decoration can be done by having straight and curved lines of different fresh colors like pink, red, blue and yellow. You can try out different kids room painting ideas. Use pink shade for the girl's bedroom. Avoid using colors like lime green, orange and purple which are bound to look odd in a log home. Different colors have some meaning associated with them, for example, white denotes peace whereas dark green symbolizes dense forests. White, cream and brown colors also look well for the walls. Affix beautiful artistic masterpieces like paintings of legendary personalities, landscape paintings and abstract paintings for a good effect.

Tiles are a type of hard flooring and are available in a wide range of natural and man-made materials. Ceramic tiles, mosaics, slate and marble are just some of the choices available and each come with their own pros and cons. The main advantage of tiles is that they are extremely hard wearing and if well maintained will last a very long time. As they are waterproof they are well suited to areas such as bathrooms and utility rooms and being easy to clean are also ideal for kitchens. However, tiles can be cold underfoot and can be slippery when wet so are not suited where older people or children are present. If they have an intricate pattern they can be difficult to fit as well as being expensive and semi-permanent. They are also noisy and require other softer surfaces to reduce the amount of echo in a room.Wooden floors are also classed as hard flooring but being softer than tiles they are also warmer underfoot. With the huge range of natural tones available they can help create a warm and homely feeling and although they can be noisy, if ‘sprung’ it can help to reduce noise and add bounce to the floor. The downside of wooden floors is that they are usually manufactured from softwoods and therefore can dent easily especially by the heels of shoes. Wooden floors are therefore best suited to rooms that do not receive heavy wear such as bedrooms.Carpets are classed as soft flooring and by their very nature create a sense of warmth and comfort. They can feel luxurious underfoot and are good for hiding stains and dirt. Heavily patterned carpets however, can make a room seem smaller and will date easily. Plain carpets on the other can make a room seem larger by creating a sense of space. As well as being warm, carpets also help to reduce noise whilst providing insulation by guarding against heat loss through the floor.
